Delivery Driver Job - Duties and responsibilities

A successful Delivery Driver will be responsible for more than just transporting goods back and forth. Here is a brief look at some of the most important daily duties of a Delivery Driver at Overflow Brewing Company:

· Drive delivery vehicle in and around the NCR to our valued customers
· Load and unload products to be delivered
· Inspect the delivery vehicle regularly
· Add fuel and maintain detailed records of fuel costs and mileage
· Deliver items by the required delivery date and time
· Collect payments and get signatures for proof of delivery from customers
· Ensure all items being delivered remain intact during transport and delivery
· Delivery route planning

Delivery Driver skills and qualifications

A successful Delivery Driver applicant should have some basic skills and qualifications. Here is a brief overview of some of the skills to look for in potential candidates:

· A valid Ontario Glass G driver’s license for the type of delivery vehicle needed
· Certification to handle alcohol (Ontario Smart Serve)
· Secondary school diploma
· Born before May 1998 with a clean driving record for the last 12 months (this is an insurance requirement)
· A clean criminal record
· Careful, cautious, and courteous. You are the face of the company on the streets of Ottawa.
· Must be able to lift kegs weighing upwards of 50Kg’s
· Overflow operates a large delivery van requiring above average driving skills
