How to: Set Up and Configure Product Groups

Product Groups are DigThisData's tool for creating custom product selections. Product Groups can be used as either a default setting, e.g. Core Products, Seasonals, etc. If using DigThisData for Order Management, they can be assigned directly to a customer, controlling what products that account can order. DigThisData supports unlimited Product Groups.

Once set, Product Groups are visible to the entire account - meaning all users will have access to all Product Groups.

Set up Product Groups

Navigate to Personal Profile Account Settings Product Groups - From this view, select the Data Set you want to create a Product Group for. For all retail channels, Product Groups will allow you to set up a default product selection for reporting purposes as well as additional filter options.  For Direct/On-Premise, this will allow you to control what products individual accounts can order. Product Groups can be anything you need - by style, size, pricing tier, format, etc.

Once the dataset has been selected use the blue Add New button and follow the prompts for a Title and Product selection. If using DigThisData OnTap Store, internal-use products will not be visible to customers, and only sales representatives will be able to add them to orders (e.g., tap handles, coasters). Check "For Internal Use Only" if you'd like the products in the Product Group to be hidden from your B2B OnTap store front.

Setting a default Product Group

If you prefer to have DigThisData default to a specific Product Group, e.g. Active Products. Navigate to Personal Profile Account Settings Personal Preferences Personal Options Default Product Selection - by channel, select the default Product Group you want to report on. Within every report, you will still have the ability to toggle back to all products or switch to another Product Group. By default, when you open DigThisData or a report, it will always open to the Product Group you have set as your default. This can be changed at any time, and Product Groups can be easily edited by opening the group and adding or removing products
